Parents of NewJeans Members Expose Alleged Exploitation and Mistreatment by HYBE in Revealing Report
A recent report has shed light on a troubling letter penned by the parents of the members of NewJeans, a K-pop group under HYBE’s subsidiary ADOR. The letter, which surfaced amidst the ongoing conflict between HYBE and ADOR, accuses the entertainment giant of various forms of mistreatment and exploitation.
The controversy stems from an email dated April 3, wherein Min Hee Jin forwarded a letter received from NewJeans’ parents on March 31 to HYBE and its label BELIFT LAB. In the letter, the parents express concerns regarding the similarity between NewJeans and BELIFT LAB’s girl group ILLIT, as well as alleged mistreatment by HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk.
The accusations leveled by NewJeans’ parents against HYBE are significant. They include claims of mistreatment, copying of concepts for the ILLIT girl group, and deliberate disregard for the members’ greetings by Bang Si Hyuk himself.
According to the report published by Ilgan Sports on May 13, the email outlines the parents’ suggestions and apprehensions regarding ILLIT’s debut. The concerns raised by the parents were brought to light by their legal representatives and underscore the brewing tensions within the K-pop industry.
Particularly alarming is the allegation of mistreatment by Bang Si Hyuk, who purportedly ignored the members’ greetings on multiple occasions. The parents express disbelief at Hyuk’s behavior and detail instances where their attempts to verify the issue yielded consistent results, leading them to conclude that the members were indeed being disregarded.
Moreover, the parents accuse HYBE of plagiarizing NewJeans’ concepts for the ILLIT group, citing similarities in photography, styling, choreography, and music video aesthetics. They question HYBE’s commitment to protecting NewJeans’ brand value and express frustration at what they perceive as a lack of consideration for their daughters’ artistic integrity.
The revelations in the report have sparked widespread concern and condemnation within the K-pop community. Fans and industry observers alike are closely monitoring developments as the feud between HYBE and ADOR escalates, casting a spotlight on the complex dynamics at play within the entertainment industry.
As the controversy unfolds, the allegations made by NewJeans’ parents serve as a sobering reminder of the challenges faced by aspiring artists and the importance of upholding ethical standards and protecting creative rights within the music industry.
