Tesla and SpaceX founder, Elon Musk has again made the headlines. Unlike last time, when he became the largest shareholder of Twitter, the billionaire this time made an offer to buy Twitter.

Although he is the biggest shareholder of the agency it seems like it isn’t enough for him.

The billionaire has made the final proposal to buy Twitter. He also stated that the social media giant needs to go private.

The news has raised the curiosity among many people to know additional information regarding the company’s shares.

On Thursday, 14th April, Elon Musk disclosed that he made a provision to buy Twitter for $43.4 billion.

Musk sent his “best and final” offer through text to Bret Taylor, Chairman of the Board at Twitter. He added: “Twitter has extraordinary potential. I will unlock it.”

The company responded to the offer by releasing a public statement. It said that the Board of Directors of Twitter will carefully review the provision made by Musk. 

As per an SEC filing dated 13th April, Musk is willing to pay $54.20 in cash for every share he does not own.

Musk also added that this was his final offer. He stated that if it is not accepted then he will be reconsidering his position as a shareholder.

How many shares does Twitter have?

Twitter currently has a total of 1733 shareholders, according to the reports submitted by Fintel. It also shared that the shareholders have submitted filings with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).

The shareholders own 736,701,437 shares in full, according to their positioning.

Aside from Musk, multiple other organizations are among the shareholders of Twitter.

The Vanguard Group Inc, State Street Corp, Morgan Stanley, and BlackRock Fund Advisors are some of Twitter’s crucial shareholders.

Additionally, companies such as Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund Investor Shares and Aristotle Capital Management are among the other shareholders of the agency.

The Vanguard Group owns 67,172,425 shares with 8.39% risk. On the other hand, Morgan Stanley has a total of 64,722,431 shares with 8.08% at stake. These are according to the reports submitted by CNN.

Musk became the largest shareholder of the company on 1st April 2022. The billionaire acquired a total of 73,115,038 shares with 9.13% at stake.
