Here is everything you need to know.
Did Amber Heard stab James Franco in Pineapple Express?
The rumors about Amber Heard stabbing fellow actor James Franco come after her defamation case with former husband Johnny Depp.
Following her defeat in the trial, the Aquaman actress continues to get relentlessly trolled online. Netizens accused her of being the abuser after court’s evidence showed Heard lifting her hand against Depp.
Regardless, few users started wondering whether the 36-year-old star had been abusive in her place of work as well.
User ‘u/edgarcia59′ took to Reddit and claimed in a post that Heard stabbing James Franco in the neck was not scripted.
David Gordon Green’s Pineapple Express was released in 2008. It follows the story of Dale Denton (Seth Rogen) who witnesses a murder. Dale joins forces with drug dealer Saul (James Franco) to escape from the killer.
Moreover, Amber Heard acts as Angie Anderson, Dale Denton’s high-school girlfriend.
In the movie, a scene shows Heard’s character Angie stabbing Franco’s character Saul with a fork.
Pineapple Express script unveils the truth behind the stabbing scene
In the wake of the rumors, the script of Pineapple Express was made public which reveals that Amber Heard did not stab James Franco in reality.
The movie’s script is available on IMSDb and it clearly states that Heard was asked to act like she was stabbing Franco in the neck.
The script goes, ‘Angie grabs a fork off the table and stabs it into Saul’s shoulder.’
The actress faced tons of criticism since the defamation trial began with many villainizing her on the internet.
Moreover, users made several TikTok clips mocking Heard’s court testimonies. Among them the most viral meme was the ‘my dog stepped on a bee’ trend.
Heard addressed the issue of online hate during an exclusive interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie.
The star said, ‘Even somebody sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t tell me, look me in the eye and tell me, that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.’
