Has Johnny Depp’s $301 million Disney contract been made public?

Johnny Depp’s $301 million Disney deal was revealed, on June 7, 2022. The rumour claimed that Johnny Depp, fresh off of his largely successful libel lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, had been offered a huge sum of money by The Walt Disney Studios to once again play his “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie character, Jack Sparrow. The rumour was spread on Reddit, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter. We haven’t discovered any proof, though, that Johnny Depp and Disney are negotiating a deal for any sum of money.

“Disney has supposedly offered Johnny Depp a USD $301 million contract deal for him to return as Jack Sparrow in another “Pirates” picture and a Disney Plus series,” the opening line of the post read. Only “a reliable source close to Disney” was cited in the blog. The article was labelled as a rumour, but, according to the website.

Johnny Depp was questioned about his interest in future “Pirates of the Caribbean” projects

Johnny Depp was questioned in court in April 2022 on his interest in future “Pirates of the Caribbean” projects. I overheard attorney J. Benjamin Rottenborn stating, “And the fact is, Mr. Depp, nothing in this world will persuade you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film, correct?” That is accurate, Mr. Rottenborn, Depp retorted.

Elaine Bredehoft, an attorney for Heard, asked Tina Newman of Walt Disney Studios. In a prerecorded deposition that was played in court in May: “Is Disney aware that Mr. Johnny Depp has testified under oath that he would not take another ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas?” “No,” Newman replied.

The next question Bredehoft posed was, “Would Disney consider paying him more than $300 million and giving him more than a million alpacas in order to secure his services for any future ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ role?” “No” was Newman’s second response.
