Crowd Surge at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Fest: Eight Died And Hundreds Injured

 On November 5th, at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, a stampede on Friday killed eight people and injured hundreds of others.

The killings happened on the opening night of the festival, which is hosted yearly in Houston’s NRG Park. When Travis was performing on his Utopia Mountain stage.

On Friday night, at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, a minimum of eight people were killed in an event of a mass casualty in Houston.

Early Saturday morning, in a press conference, Houston Fire Chief Sam Pena detailed the incident.

What Happened At Astroworld?

A crowd rush happened about 21:15 pm amid Travis Scott’s Astroworld performance. Resulting in eight deaths and around 300 people injuries.

Houston fire chief Samuel Pena explained: “The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries.”

“People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic,” he continued.

Following the unfortunate catastrophe, the second day of the Astroworld concert didn’t take place.

In 2020, at NRG Park in Texas, the festival was held this year after being postponed. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, and for Saturday evening has been rescheduled.

Eight Died And More Than Hundreds Injured

The fire chief went into greater detail regarding the accidents at the event, and the fatalities that happened, in a statement.

“We have at least eight confirmed fatalities tonight… and we had scores of individuals who were injured here at this event,” he said.

He confirmed that 17 people had been sent to local hospitals. 11 of the 17 people were in cardiac arrest.

NRG Park also has a hospital where those with minor cuts and bruises can be treated.

Moreover, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as per a source, were both there at the festival on Friday night but were unharmed.
