Rail strikes to happen soon

Rail strikes were supposed to happen on 15th September and 17th September as per the plans of the unions. However, the plan didn’t go its way as Queen’s demise didn’t get that happen. However, after all of that delays now the strike is to take place soon on 1st October and 5th October.

Now, train drivers of 12 rail companies under the Aslef union are to do their strikes on 1st and 5th October respectively. This is coinciding with a few dates that are important including the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham. Also, it might have an effect on London Marathon that’s to take place on 2nd October.

Why is the rail strike happening?

The rail strike is happening between the unions and Network Rail. The reason for the strike is that industrial actions have affected rail services. Apart from that, the strike aims to voice the trouble with the pay and working condition of the rail staff.

The reason stated by the strike supporter is that inflation is rising and is going to rise even more as per the forecast. But rail companies in comparison to the growing inflation haven’t given anything to the rail employees. Hence, a strike is to voice all the concerns of the workers.
