Chris Martin, the vocalist of Coldplay, has spoken out about his plans once the band has disbanded. The ‘Fix You’ singer has stated openly that he aspires to be a Broadway star.
Will Chris Martin won’t sing anymore?
The 45-year-old singer recently stated that his band Coldplay would cease creating recordings in 2025, and he has his sights set on his next professional step, which includes a theatrical adaptation of Disney’s ‘Mary Poppins.’ “I have this far-fetched goal of being in Mary Poppins on Broadway or something,” he said, “but that’s a long way off.”
While the Coldplay vocalist is a talented musician with several successes under his credit, he lacks culinary abilities. Chris Martin said that he was not a competent cook in December 2021, noting that every time he attempted it, the emergency services were contacted.
Chris Martin admits he is not a good cook
“I’m not a fantastic cook,” he said. I’ve cooked twice in the previous ten years, and both times the Fire Brigade arrived, and I’d want to thank the North London Fire Department for saving my life both times. “Have you been cooking again?” they asked the second time. “I said I’d make supper, but then I got busy and went to work on a song, and then I forgot till anyhow!” he stated.
“My daughter’s favourite programme at the time was Modern Family, and we bonded over it. And, well, Curb Your Enthusiasm is Curb Your Enthusiasm, so how could you refuse? Clearly, I’m not an actor, but I’m okay for a few cameos here and there.”
Coldplay and Chris Martin’s achievements
Coldplay rose to prominence after the release of their song Yellow in 2000. A Rush of Blood to the Head and Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends were both critically acclaimed CDs. He has seven Grammy Awards and nine Brit Awards to his name. He’s collaborated with musicians like Nelly Furtado and DJ Avicii and written songs for bands like Embrace and Jamelia.
