Cardi B took to her social media to troll fans who kept on asking about her race.
She reacted when a fan inquired about her race on the 18th of April. The fan asked, “girl are you black?”.
The artist replied to the question with a sarcastic comment that said she is Irish and Yugoslavian.
While the comment amused many users, few remained unsatisfied as the rapper gave an actual answer to the question.
One of the users responded to the Cardi’s saying, “It’s strange to me that you’ve never answered this question correctly.”
The user further went on to say that the singer starts making jokes whenever someone questions her race. Additionally, the user stated that Cardi can’t even say that she’s black but uses the term, n**g* easily in several songs.
The Bodak Yellow artist gave a single statement as a reply which read, “Because I’m Mexican.” This tweet however was later deleted.
Cardi B talks about her ethnicity
Cardi B opened up about her race in an interview with CR Fashion Book back in 2018.
The singer said that she finds it irritating that only a few people are aware of her culture. Consequently, tons of people start attacking her when she doesn’t say that she’s black, Cardi B told Zendаyа during the interview.
The 29 years old artist further stated that the reason they keep on pestering her about her race is that they don’t understаnd Cаribbeаn people or culture. Some people assume that you are black based on your skin color.
Fans coming to Cardi B’s rescue
Following Cаrdi B’s trolled tweet, many fans have come forward to defend the singer.
One fan said that it’s unusual to them how people care so much about how others perceive you. In addition to, “worry аbout yourselves.”
Another fan mentioned that Cardi B has many times in the past years told that she doesn’t have to explain her race all the time. Furthermore, it stated that a simple search on Google or Twitter will provide you with enough information to satiate your curiosity.
One of the defensive supporters said that Cardi B has answered questions about her race many times in the past. On the other hand, another tweet said, “It’s beyond ridiculous, hence her sаrcаsm.”
Cardi B is featured in the newly released single track titled Shake It by Kay Flock and Dougie B. The song made its debut in the number one position on the global charts of Spotify.
