TikTok sensation Brianna LaPaglia, popularly known as Brianna Chickenfry, has recently opened up about her emotional state following her unexpected breakup with singer-songwriter Zach Bryan. On October 22, LaPaglia shared a heartfelt video on YouTube titled Love you guys, I’ll be back soon, where she addressed the breakup and revealed how she was “blindsided” by Bryan’s public announcement of their split.
LaPaglia, visibly emotional in the video, sat on her bathroom floor and tearfully explained her side of the story. “I just woke up to Zach posting on his Instagram that we broke up, and I had no idea that post was going up. He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me. I just woke up to a bunch of texts, like, ‘Are you okay?’” she said. According to LaPaglia, she had been crying for several days, struggling to process the breakup. “Do you see the swelling in my face? I’ve been crying for like five days straight,” she admitted.
LaPaglia is famously known as Brianna Chickenfry, a nickname that dates back to a humorous Vine video where she compared her legs to Burger King chicken fries. When creating her TikTok account, she chose the name Chickenfry without realizing it would stick as her popular moniker. In an interview with the New York Post
LaPaglia and Zach Bryan had been publicly dating since July 2023, and they made their red-carpet debut together at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Their relationship seemed strong in the public eye, but rumors of their split began circulating in October 2024. Bryan confirmed the breakup on Instagram, writing, “Brianna and me have broken up, and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time, and for that, I’ll always thank her.”
In his post, Bryan also acknowledged that he had gone through an incredibly challenging year and believed it would be best for both of them to go their separate ways. He asked for privacy, noting that he’s “not perfect” and has “failed the people I love the most.”
LaPaglia, in her YouTube video, expressed that she felt blindsided by the public announcement, as she hadn’t been given a heads-up. She explained that she wanted to heal privately and stay out of the public eye for a while. “How can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through stuff that you shouldn’t… and then be discarded of in a few days? It’s really, really heartbreaking,” she shared tearfully.
Despite the emotional turmoil, LaPaglia assured her fans that she would eventually be okay. Although she didn’t reveal the full details behind their split, she promised to address them when she felt ready. In the meantime, she thanked her followers for their kind messages and support, expressing her gratitude before signing off the video.
