Bret Michaels has been hospitalized over an unconfirmed medical issue. It took place moments before he was supposed to take the stage and perform with his band, Poison.

Bret Michaels hospitalized in Nashville

Bret Michaels has rushed to a hospital in Nashville on Thursday evening ahead of his performance at the Nissan Stadium show.

Sources told TMZ that the 59-year-old rockstar is being treated after he suffered an apparent bad reaction to a COVID-related medication. The reaction might have been triggered by Michaels’ diabetes.

Poison is currently on a stadium tour with Def Leppard, Joan Jett, and Motley Crue.

Audiences claim that before the show started, Poison’s band members took the stage to deliver the bad news that Michaels has been taken to a hospital.

Furthermore, the bandmates added that they could not perform their set without him. Hence, the concert was eventually canceled.

Fans react to Bret Michaels being hospitalized

Concert goers were bummed about not seeing the show. They took to Twitter to express their feelings.

One member wrote, ‘Came all the way from KC to watch poison. Bret Michaels was admitted to the hospital. No poison in Nashville.’

However, fans showered Bret Michaels’ with support and wished the ‘Something To Believe In’ singer well.

A fan said, ‘In Nashville. Get well soon [Bret Michaels]. Hope to see you next time.’

A different fan tweeted, ‘Feel better, Bret!’ along with a series of emojis.

Bret Michaels’s history with health issues

This is not the first time Bret Michaels was thrust into the limelight because of his health struggles.

Back in 2014, the music icon was hospitalized six times within just two weeks. He reportedly had two stents inserted into his body during the time.

Moreover, in 2011, Michaels went through surgery to repair a hole in his heart. 

Following the surgery, the musician shared, ‘I am pumped to get back on the road and start rocking out on stage for all my awesome fans.’

Additionally, before that in 2010, the artist underwent an emergency appendectomy. Shortly after that, he sustained a hemorrhage at the base of his brain stem.

Michaels talked about his recovery 10 years later while talking with HollywoodLife. He said, ‘For the most part, I’ve gotten most of my function back. There are some definite brain issues and some definite hand and leg issues, but I’ve worked through them with therapy.’
