It is necessary to put an end to some traditions. According to Australian media outlets ABC News and Sky News, Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose will no longer throw his microphone into the crowd during concerts. According to the outlets, Rebecca Howe suffered bruises on her face after she was hit by Rose’s microphone. Rebecca Howe said she was just warning people to duck for cover if Axl sang “Paradise City”. Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, 60, responded Friday night by announcing the end of a nearly 30-year tradition. According to the musician, we don’t want anyone getting hurt at any of our shows or to somehow harm anyone at any of our shows.

Our fans have always wanted and been aware of the chance to catch the mic at the end of our shows for more than 30 years. We have tossed the mic for over 30 years. In the interest of public safety, the “Sweet Child O’ Mine” singer said the band will refrain from throwing microphones and other items. Sadly, there are those who for their own reasons chose to frame their coverage of this subject in a more negative and irresponsible light which is far from reality, Axl Rose said. It is our hope that the public and of course (our) fans understand that sometimes things happen.

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose Vows To Stop Throwing Mic Into The Crowd, Ending The 30 Years Tradition After Fan Injury

After hitting an Australian woman in the face, Guns N’ Roses lead singer Axl Rose announced that he would stop throwing his microphone to the crowd. According to a statement Rose released on Friday, he never intended to injure anyone during the band’s performance at the Adelaide Oval. Obviously, we don’t want anyone to get hurt at any of (our) shows anymore, said Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose. He added that it’s always been common knowledge at Guns N’ Roses shows. The mic has always been thrown at the conclusion of (our) show for over 30 years, and we have always felt it was a familiar part of the show that fans wanted to catch, Axl Rose said. Rose said ending the gesture, which has become an integral part of the band’s concerts, was in the interest of public safety. As the band prepared to play its final song of the night, “Paradise City,” Rebecca Howe claimed she suffered two black eyes and a busted nose.

If it were a few inches to the right or left, what would happen? According to Rebecca Howe via the Adelaide Advertiser, if it had hit me in the face and broken my teeth, I would have lost an eye. It could have killed me if I had turned my head and it hit me in the temple. Despite not directly apologizing to Rebecca Howe for the injury, Axl Rose called out reporters for their coverage of the incident. For their own reasons, there are those who chose to frame their reporting regarding this subject in a negative and irresponsible light that could not be further from the truth. Our fans and the general public should understand that sometimes things happen. Thank you all for understanding, Axl Rose concluded in his statement. In the week ahead, Guns N’ Roses will play two shows in New Zealand to conclude their tour in Australia. Following their New Zealand tour dates, the band will be on hiatus until June 2023, when they will perform in Hyde Park London.
