Kenny Omega leaves AEW Revolution 2021 still champion, and the evening ends on a pschitt. Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega met this Sunday night in the AEW Revolution 2021 main event in an Exploding Barbed Wire Match.

Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega met this Sunday night in the AEW Revolution 2021 main event in an Exploding Barbed Wire Match. The principle: a hardcore match in which the ropes of the ring are covered with barbed wire and in which they are better not to be thrown because they explode.
It’s after several minutes of attempting to throw the ropes and using a few objects to really get the game going that Jon Moxley will be the first to get sent down the trapped ropes. Kenny Omega will go there twice in a row after passing through a table. Barbed wire the table, of course. Meanwhile, Jon Moxley’s face is bleeding.
Barbed wire objects will adorn the match, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson will intervene at the end to help Kenny Omega, bringing him, in particular, a baseball bat also barbed but with one more thing: it explodes when Omega hits Moxley with it. Yet the latter will recover.
Kenny Omega would end up winning the match by pinfall while carrying his One-Winged Angel on a barbed chair. This time around Moxley is not getting up, Omega is still the AEW champion.
But that doesn’t mean the champion wants to leave his rival alone. Along with Anderson and Gallows, Omega continues to go after Moxley with whatever comes his way, as long as it bleeds. During this time the countdown continues.
An alarm goes off, there is a minute left before the ring explodes. As Omega and his comrades leave the ring, Eddie Kingston arrives to save Jon Moxley from the explosion. Moxley doesn’t get up, so Kingston tries the trick for the whole thing: he covers Moxley.
Except that the explosion was not as strong as expected. Much less strong even. But Kingston is windy anyway, and he doesn’t get up either.
