On April 10, HGTV will debut a new home renovation pair on its upcoming show, Building Roots. Since 2004, Ben and Cristi Dozier, a husband-and-wife team, have been in the home-decorating industry. The duo has pulled off some amazing projects for their clients over the years, and they’re about to do it again on their first TV show, Building Roots.

The husband-and-wife team will design, build, and renovate boundary-pushing projects in Building Roots. Along with their work as home builders, the show will also document their personal lives with their children and their home in Colorado.

Building Roots’ Ben and Cristi moved their family from Austin to Colorado

Ben and Cristi Dozier founded Root Design Company, a home-renovation company, in 2004 with a passion for home design and construction.

Cristi explained the concept behind their company’s name in an interview with HGTV Insider. She said that before they launched the company, they had a name. “We also liked the phrase ‘root,’ which meant the source from which something grows”.

They were not alone in this endeavor, however, as they started with their passion while simultaneously caring for their nine-month-old baby. Adelyn, Gunnison, Creede, and South are the couple’s four children at the moment.

About Ben and Cristi Dozier

Ben and Cristi Dozier began their business in their hometown of Austin, Texas. Furthermore, their initial office was set up in their living room. The Dozier family eventually relocated to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where they still reside in a century-old Victorian riverfront mansion. The couple has set up shop in a historic barn on the site as the headquarters for their business.

Colorado serves as a source of inspiration for the couple. More than that, they find it to be a relaxing environment in which to raise a family. When the weather is great, Cristi says the family can go fishing, skiing, walking, or sitting around a campfire.

The duo is proud of the fact that they have never used the identical design for another job. They are more interested with improving their client’s individuality in the house makeover than with their own style.

Building Roots premieres on HGTV on Sunday, April 10 at 9/8c.
