Avatar 2: It’s been nearly thirteen years since Avatar hit the theatres and became one of the top highest-grossing movies of all time.
Recently, details on the sequel film of Avatar were revealed by Disney announced at CinemaCon 2022. The event took place in Los Angeles.

What is the Official title of Avatar 2?
Many of us had referred to Avatar’s sequel as Avatar 2 for many years. Regardless, Disney announced the official title which is Avatar: The Way of Water.
When will Avatar 2 be released?
The long-delayed sequel of Avatar is slated to release later this year on 16th December 2022 in the United States.
The film will have a 3D release along with a 2D and 4K release. It will also be shown in high frame rate screenings.
The production for the film began five years back in 2017. The shooting however went on for quite a time and wrapped up in late September 2020.
The theatrical release of Avatar2 has been delayed nearly eight times.
Consequently, Disney revealed that they are developing three more sequels – Avatar 3, 4, and 5. They are scheduled to hit the theatre screens on 20th December 2024, 18th December 2026, and 22nd December 2028 respectively.
What About Avatar 2 Trailer?
The first teaser trailer for Avatar 2 will be released alongside MCU Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Marvel film is set to be screened on 6th May 2022.
The first poster of Avatar: The Way of Water was revealed in September last year on the official Twitter handle of Avatar.
What to expect in Avatar 2?
The plot for the upcoming Avatar sequel is currently vague.
But there are high chances that will once again show humans trying to excavate the alien planet of Pandora. They will roughly attempt to acquire Pandora’s rare metal called unobtanium.
The original Avatar movie follows ex-marine Jake Sully. He takes the role of an Avatar which permits him to be in the body of Pandora’s native Na’vi.
Jake is sent to spy on Pandora by the people of earth. He however falls in love with Neytiri and eventually goes against his fellow people.
Avatar: The Way of Water will star Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang. They will be joined by Cliff Curtis, Joel Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco along with Jemaine Clement.
Giovanni Ribisi and Kate Winslet will reprise their roles in Avatar 2.
