Horror director David Cronenberg is back nearly ten years later with a new film titled Crimes of the Future.
The trailer for the new movie included everything and more we might expect in a Cronenberg movie.
Set in a not-too-distant future the film will showcase humans metamorphosed into becoming a hybrid of flesh and technology.

When will Crimes of the Future premier?
After much anticipation, Crimes of the Future’s distributor NEON has announced the release date of the upcoming bloody horror movie.
The movie will make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival next month in May.
Crimes of the Future will further be screened in the cities of New York and Los Angeles on 3rd June. The film will expand wide a week later, on 10th June.
Who will be in the cast of Crimes of the Future?
Crimes of the Future will include Twilight star Kristen Stewart along with Léa Seydoux and Viggo Mortensen in the main cast.
Other cast members that will feature in the upcoming film include Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, Tanaya Beatty, Nadia Litz, and Yorgos Karamichos, as well as Yorgos Pirpassopoulos.
What will be the storyline for Crimes of the Future?
An official synopsis of the horror film, Crimes of the Future has already been released.
As per the official synopsis, the forthcoming movie will showcase Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), a popular artist who likes to ‘publicly display the metamorphosis of his organs in cutting-edge performances’.
Caprice (Léa Seydoux) is Saul’s partner who brings him to life after each performance.
Timlin (Kristen Stewart), is an investigator at t he National Organ Registry. She obsessively keeps track of Saul and Caprice.
David Cronenberg had the script of Crimes of the Future stored for 20 years
The body horror auteur David Cronenberg himself revealed that he had the Crimes of the Future’s script archived for nearly twenty years.
He sat down with Document last December. During the interview, he confessed that when Kristen Stewart recited the lines of Timlin he felt like her character was ‘coming to life’ right in front of him.
Crimes of the Future is both written and directed by horror auteur, David Cronenberg (The Fly, Maps to the Stars).
The film will also mark the fourth time Cronenberg and Mortensen have collaborated on a project. The duo has previously worked together for movies like A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, and A Dangerous Method.
