Buzz Lightyear Teaser Trailer: Chris Evans Going to Voice Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear

Lightyear, a new Pixar film starring Chris Evans, tells the story of Buzz Lightyear. He plays the original Buzz Lightyear, not the Buzz from Toy Story. That in itself raises a slew of issues. Thankfully, the teaser movie, also had its director, Angus MacLane. They are here to offer additional light on how everything is putting along.

Chris Evans Suits Up For Space As Voice Of Buzz Lightyear

Buzz, as spoken by Tim Allen, is a toy based on the Buzz of a popular sci-fi series. That’s a figure who is captain of the Universe Protection Unit of the Space Ranger corps from the Intergalactic Alliance, as per what we know from the Toy Story movie. Pixar said Lightyear would be the genesis story for that character. The youthful test pilot who became the space ranger we all know him to be today. Other “surface” similarities between Buzz of Evans and Buzz of Allen include the iconic Buzz Lightyear spacesuit. Which has been seen in the trailer and the famous character of the catchphrase. Before the Lightyear trailer cuts him off, Evans is about to continue the “To infinity and beyond” statement. It’s a tactic Disney most certainly took from the Avengers movies. Which consistently prevented Evan’s Captain America from declaring Avengers, unite! until the end of the film.

Beyond that, Lightyear is ostensibly a big-budget science fiction film. Buzz locks into a rocket. That is powered by a mystery crystallized energy source that allows him to shoot around the sun without getting scorched. In the trailer’s opening sequence. Will there be a bigger part in the movie? It will, for sure, “Of that scene.

MacLane says he wants to give people the type of sci-fi film he grew up seeing. But with more modern sensibilities, from 1977 to 1991.

The term Star Wars comes up frequently. Buzz and a droid are shown cowering beneath a collapsed tree trunk on an unidentified misty planet. Which looks eerily similar to Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back in a scene from the movie.
