With Nagara, Mizuho, and the speaking dog in Sonny Boy Episode 9, the narrative of kids in a mystery world starts; Gen travelled to the camps, and Gen speaks up regarding his background.
Mizuho wanted to educate Gen more about being such a stray dog in the wild. Gen declined, telling Mizuho that he had been a human before. Mizuho says that Nozomi may have had an altercation with somebody and asks Gen if he can relate the story. Gen took the decision to expose what had turned him into a dog.
Somebody, though, was kind enough to return her grin. The girls handed down an incredible power, one that allowed them to control everything. The girl was everybody’s chance, and everybody entrusted her to make the correct choice. The girl is everybody’s entire universe, and Gen as well as the other pupils were completely reliant on her. They all were people until a weird occurrence occurred, causing them to transform into various animals. Gen goes on to say that their bliss didn’t last very long.
Tumors developed from the lesions, which grew bigger by the day. Everybody there was suffering since that girl’s abilities were unable to rescue everyone. She used this to call Gen Yamabiko, and her wellness began to worsen one day. When the girl asks Gen how she seems, he has no choice but to give her the reality of the situation.
