Usher Says He Accepts the Title of King of R&B: 'I Do Deserve That'

Usher wants to make his title clear, but also wants people to know who’s come before.

The 43-year-old superstar made an appearance on Radio Andy’s Bevelations on SiriusXM, where he discussed the current state of R&B

During the conversation, he discussed the title of “King of R&B,” and explained why he feels comfortable dubbing himself as the rightful heir to the throne

When asked if he was willing to accept the title, he paid tribute to those who have come before.

“I’ll definitely carry it. I’ll tilt my crown knowing that I’m standing on the shoulders of all of the icons of our time. It is Michael that I stand on the shoulders of,”
