Donald Trump is pleading the fifth.
The former President of the United States invoked the fifth amendment.
And refused to answer questions amid a deposition conducted by the New York attorney general on Wednesday
“Under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen .
He was to be deposed by lawyers as part of an over three-year civil investigation into whether the Trump Organization misled lenders, insurers and tax authorities.
In a post on Truth Social earlier in the day, he said: “My great company, and myself, are being attacked from all sides. Banana Republic!”
