Tom Hanks Looks Back On 'Philadelphia' & Says He Wouldn't Take The Role of a Gay Man Today

Tom Hanks is looking back on his movie, Philadelphia, which won him his first Oscar.

While discussing the movie that made him an Oscar winner, Tom said that if that movie were made today, he couldn’t play the role

“Let’s address ‘could a straight man do what I did in Philadelphia now?’” he pointed out during his interview

“It’s not a crime, it’s not boohoo,” he added

Tom‘s new movie, Elvis, will hit theaters on June 24.
