Referees eject Steph Curry from the game

On Wednesday night, Steph Curry was removed from the game against the Memphis Grizzlies by the referees.

This was the third time this has happened in his career and the incident has led to calls for the NBA to re-evaluate its policies.

During a closely contested game that ultimately resulted in a Warriors win, Steph Curry, the team's star point guard, threw his mouthpiece in frustration.

The incident occurred after Jordan Poole took a 30-foot jump shot with over a minute remaining in the game.

According to Section V, Rule 12 of the NBA's rulebook, it is stated that using profanity or blasphemy directed towards an official is not the only reason for a technical foul to be imposed.

The NBA rulebook states that a technical foul may be assessed for actions such as prolonged verbal outbursts, persistent complaining, and griping.

Excessive misconduct will lead to ejection from the game.

The referees interpreted Steph Curry's throwing of his mouthpiece as directed towards them,

however it was actually in disapproval and frustration towards Jordan Poole's poor decision to take a jump shot.
