Martin Lawrence Reveals If 'Bad Boys 4' Is Still Happening After Will Smith's Oscars Slap

In a new interview with Ebony, the 57-year addressed whether the buddy-cop franchise would be back after his co-star Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars

The Bad Boys movie premiere in 1995 and grossed $141 million worldwide, kicking off a successful franchise that followed with Bad Boys II in 2003 and Bad Boys for Life in 2020

“It was big,” Martin said of the first Bad Boys. “For us to come together and prove that we can deliver,

And we can pull people into the box office — that two Black stars, two sitcom stars, could make money at the box office [was huge].”

“I didn’t go to college, so I felt TV was my college years,” he added. “I felt with movies, I had graduated; it was just different.”

While the actor insists the franchise isn’t going anywhere, it’s still unclear where the fourth film is in development.
