Jamie Foxx Reveals Why His Comedy 'All-Star Weekend' Won’t Be Released

Jamie Foxx is opening up about the status of his shelved comedy movie, All-Star Weekend.

If you recall, the flick was filmed in 2016 with Jamie starring opposite Jeremy Piven and Robert Downey, Jr.

among others and it centered on two best friends who win tickets to the NBA All-Star game. Yet their travel plans get derailed due to a group of outrageous characters

Robert allegedly was starring as a Mexican man and Jamie himself was also going to be playing multiple roles including, reportedly, a racist, white police officer

While speaking to CinemaBlend, Jamie revealed that the movie had been shelved because the landscape of comedy has changed.

“It’s been tough with the lay of the land when it comes to comedy,” he shared. “We’re trying to break open the sensitive corners

where people go back to laughing again. We hope to keep them laughing and run them right into All-Star Weekend because we were definitely going for it.”
