Harry Styles Angers Many Over His Comments About Gay Love Scenes

Harry Styles has pushed buttons with his gender-bending looks and LGBTQ+ advocacy, but his recent comments didn't go over so well

In a recent interview, Styles spoke about the gay love scenes in his new film, My Policeman

The film is set in 1957 and centers around a love triangle between a closeted cop, his wife, and a museum curator

The film starts Styles as the cop, Emma Corrin as his wife, and David Dawson as his secret lover

"So much of gay sex in film is two guys going at it, and it kind of removes the tenderness from it," Styles told Rolling Stone

"There will be, I would imagine, some people who watch it who were very much alive during this time when it was illegal to be gay."

But Twitter was not having it. One user wrote, "Harry Styles gotta be the most underwhelming 'queer icon' ever, he’s contributed nothing except ugly outfits and bad opinions
