Diane Warren to Receive Honorary Oscar After 13 Nominations

After 13 Academy Award nominations, the 65-year-old songwriter will be receiving an Honorary Oscar at the 2022 Governors Awards.

Diane is among three other stars that will be honored at the ceremony taking place later this year.

Fellow honorees include Master and Commander Peter Weir and A Dry White Season filmmaker Euzhan Palcy, who is the first Black woman to direct a movie for a major Hollywood.

“The Academy’s Board of Governors is honored to recognize four individuals who have made indelible contributions to cinema and the world at large,” Academy President David Rubin

“Diane Warren’s music and lyrics have magnified the emotional impact of countless motion pictures and inspired generations of musical artists.

Michael J. Fox will also be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. The 2022 Governors Awards will take place on Saturday, November 13.
