Amber Heard is officially appealing the verdict in the Johnny Depp defamation trial
Where she was found to have defamed him with her 2018 Washington Post op-ed.
The trial lasted weeks and a decision was made by the jury in early June 2022. Amber‘s legal team indicated they would be appealing, and it has now been made official.
“We believe the court made errors that prevented a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment. We are therefore appealing the verdict.
While we realize today’s filing will ignite the Twitter bonfires, there are steps we need to take to ensure both fairness and justice,” Amber‘s reps told TMZ about the decision to file an appeal.
