The new Twitter allows any user to get their account verified with a blue checkmark or blue tick after paying $8. But how can the user subscribe to it?

What is the blue checkmark or blue tick verification on Twitter?

According to Twitter, the blue tick is, ‘Power to the people. Your account will get a blue checkmark, just like the celebrities, companies, and politicians you already follow.’

Moreover, Twitter Blue with a blue tick includes fewer ads and the users are now able to upload a long video along with getting priority for ranking quality content.

However, unlike the previous Twitter, which awarded a blue tick based on certain criteria, anybody on Twitter Blue can now get their profile verified for a monthly fee.

How to subscribe to Twitter Blue?

It is important to note that Twitter handles that were created on or after 9th November 2022 are not yet eligible to subscribe to the new Twitter Blue.

Regardless, other existing Twitter users can get their handle verified by paying a monthly fee of $7.99. 

Here are the steps:

1. Open the Profile menu on Twitter for the iOS app.
2. Click on Twitter Blue.
3. Tap on the subscribe button below with the per-month price.
4. Besides that, Twitter profiles that were previously verified will be charged the previous US price i.e. $2.99/month or $4.99 per month, until the end of their current billing cycle.

Issues some might face while subscribing to Twitter Blue

Some of the users might have received a note that said, ‘Twitter Blue is not available in your country,’ while trying to subscribe for the blue checkmark. There might be several reasons why they are facing these errors.

Firstly, the new Twitter Blue service is only available for iOS app users at the time of writing. Hence, android users are out of luck if they want to subscribe to the verification.

In addition, this feature is not available through the web but is included as an in-app purchase.

Furthermore, presently it is launched only in certain regions such as the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
