The SCP Auctions offered one of the rarest items in its 2022 Spring Premier Auction. The Kobe Bryant cards are said to be among the highly sought-after items included in the list.
The most coveted Bryant’s card, the 1997 Skybox Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems #81 collections hit the auction. Nevertheless, it is rumored to be sold for more than a million dollars.

Kobe Bryant cards are to be sold for one million dollars
Kobe Bryant’s 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems is a limited card edition. It is numbered 60 out of 100 which makes it incredibly rare.
This SCP example is even special since it is the only known PMG card edition autographed by the Black Mamba himself. It is an exceptional item since no other autographed version of it has hit the market as of yet.
A premiere grader and authenticator, PSA has graded it as Authentic however its autograph carries a grade of mint 9. JSA also authenticated the autograph card edition before SCP Auctions put it on the list.
The auction thinks that the limited edition of the card could sell for more than one million bucks.
What makes Kobe Bryant cards so special?
To find PMG cards that feature 123 players with all 100 cards in an excellent condition with one of them signed by Kobe Bryant is next to impossible.
In addition to it, the limited cards were produced using colored foil which helps in keeping them pristine.
For collectors, PMGs are considered to be extremely significant since they are difficult to obtain and look great.
There are two versions of every card. The first 10 Kobe PMG cards are painted green (emerald), while the other 90 are printed red (ruby).
A green version of Kobe PMG, not signed, bagged nearly two million dollars at a private sale brokered by PWCC Marketplace only a few months ago.
The signed SCP red limited edition card is estimated to be around $500,000. It has already been 10 times as of yet.
Bryant’s average score was 7.6 points per game as a rookie in 1996-7. It later climbed up to 15.4 points average per game in his NBA second season in 1997-98.
SCP started the auction a few days back on 18th May and the bidding on cards will run through 4th June.
