On Monday, six candidates for mayor attacked Mayor Lori Lightfoot for using a vulgar allusion to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and implying that the historic ruling last week overturning Roe v. Wade should be a prelude to the repeal of homosexual marriage.
At a weekend Pride in the Park gathering in Grant Park, a riled-up Lightfoot cries from the stage, “If you read Clarence Thomas’ concurrence.”

Some audience members seemed horrified by the mayor’s use of obscene language in front of the crowd. Others who echoed it appeared to be pleased.
Lesbian Lightfoot, the first LGBT black woman elected mayor of a US city, proclaimed that she will not abide by the Supreme Court’s decision. She publicly condemned the repeal of the abortion rights that Roe v. Wade established in 1973 during the event.

Due to this, abortions were outlawed after six weeks or in 13 states with a majority of Republicans.
Therefore, women from states with restrictive or outright bans on abortion would need to travel to a state where the operation is permitted. Women from states where abortions are prohibited or restricted would therefore need to fly to a state where the operation is permitted. As a result, women who require an abortion will have to travel to places like Chicago in order to receive the operation.
