YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has reportedly taken a significant legal step against his former employee, DogPack404, following a series of viral videos that accuse the content creator of fraudulent activities. According to a Daily Mail report from August 27, 2024, MrBeast has enlisted the services of high-profile attorney Alex Spiro, known for representing celebrities like Alec Baldwin and Elon Musk, to draft a cease-and-desist letter aimed at silencing the allegations.
The controversy began in July 2024 when DogPack404 uploaded a 53-minute exposé video titled I worked for MrBeast, He’s a Fraud. The video quickly gained traction, racking up millions of views, as DogPack404 made several bold accusations against MrBeast. Among the claims were allegations that MrBeast fakes his videos and employs individuals with a history of sexual misconduct, including his friend and former employee, Ava Kris Tyson, who was recently accused of inappropriate behavior with minors.
In the video, DogPack404 went beyond questioning the authenticity of MrBeast’s content. He accused the YouTube star of manipulating young audiences and fostering parasocial relationships between the creators featured in his videos and their viewers. This assertion struck a chord, particularly given the timing of the video’s release, which coincided with the Ava Kris Tyson scandal.
By August 1, 2024, DogPack404 had reportedly received two cease-and-desist letters from MrBeast. The Daily Mail report suggests that at least one of these letters was authored by Alex Spiro, the same attorney who helped clear Alec Baldwin in the highly publicized Rust shooting case.
The letters accuse DogPack404, whose real name is Dawson French, of making “false and defamatory allegations” against MrBeast. The documents further allege that French violated the terms of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) he signed during his brief employment with MrBeast. According to the cease-and-desist letter, French “pleaded for [his] job back” after his trial period ended, only to turn around and levy serious accusations against his former employer.
In response to the legal threats, French remains defiant, maintaining his stance in a statement to the Daily Mail. He claims that MrBeast has knowingly employed individuals with criminal backgrounds, including those convicted of sexual offenses, despite the alleged legal risks.
As of now, MrBeast has not issued a public statement directly addressing the allegations made by DogPack404. However, he has distanced himself from Ava Kris Tyson, expressing his disgust over her actions. Despite the legal pressure, DogPack404 has continued to post content on the matter. Just a week after receiving the second cease-and-desist letter, he released another video titled I worked for MrBeast, He’s a Sociopath, which featured further accusations from a former team member named Jake Weddle.
The ongoing feud between MrBeast and DogPack404 has sparked widespread discussion within the YouTube community, with many awaiting MrBeast’s next move. While the YouTube star has yet to publicly address the broader allegations, it seems that he is opting for a legal battle rather than engaging in a public back-and-forth with his former employee.
