Demi Lovato recently appeared on Spout Podcast for an episode where she talked about her decision to change her pronouns with host Tamara Dhia.
She said, ‘I’ve actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again with me. So for me, I’m such a fluid person that I don’t really and I don’t find that I am… I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced and my masculine and feminine energy.’
The 29-year-old star continued, ‘So that when I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom and it said, women and men, I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel necessarily like a woman.’
She went on to mention, ‘I didn’t feel like a man. I just felt like a human. And that’s what they/them is about. For me, it’s just about feeling human at your core.’
The former Disney actress then mentioned, ‘Recently I’ve been feeling more feminine, and so I’ve adopted she/her again. But I think what’s important is, like, nobody’s perfect.’
She added, ‘Everyone messes up pronouns at some point, and especially when people are learning, it’s just all about respect.’
Lovato’s interview with Dhia comes more than a year after she came out as non-binary in May 2021.

Demi Lovato took to social media to come out to her fans and followers.
She said in a video on Twitter, ‘I want to take this moment to share something very personal with you.’
The Heart Attack singer then revealed, ‘Over the past year-and-a-half I’ve been doing some healing and self-reflective work, and through this work, I’ve had the revelation that I identify as non-binary.’
She also confirmed, ‘With that said, I’ll be officially changing my pronouns to they/them.’
Lovato then claimed, ‘This has come after a lot of healing and self-reflective work. I want to make it clear I’m still learning and coming into myself, and I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me.’
Meanwhile, Lil Uzi Vert is one of the musicians who have recently admitted that they prefer they/them pronouns.
