Anderson Cooper on His Fake Persona of Monika And His Mother’s Art Selling

On Late Night with Set Mayors, Anderson Cooper was the visitor. He told in the show that he made his fake persona to help sell his mom’s arts.

On October 25, Anderson Cooper shared his heartwarming story of his late mother Gloria Vanderbilt’s life. In the last years of Gloria, her son started showing some paintings and sharing tales. Cooper told in the show that his mother started loving these paintings. She even made her profile and soon garnered 200,000 followers. Gloria demanded her paintings and an assistant who could manage the gross sale of these paintings.   

After realizing the need for an assistant, his mother said, “Okay, why not we make a fake persona someone like Monica, and you can help me to sell these paintings.” Cooper added, “So, I started using her profile, managing all her paintings and the gross sales, talked to the clients through direct messages. So, I did all this for exactly three years.”

It was pretty challenging for Cooper to work both as an anchor and as Monica. There was a time when his work as Monica interrupted him in his profession.   

He said in the latest interview, “There was a time I was in Baghdad for hosting. The calls were coming, and I asked them if they needed lamination white or any other color. He said, “It was just an adventure. It was the happy moment that I was able to do something for my mother.”

Anderson Cooper is an American newscast journalist and state commentator. He was born on June 3, 1967. He is an anchor on CNN news broadcast and also, he serves as a correspondent for 60 Minutes on CBS News. Cooper was born into the Vanderbilt family in Manhattan.  

He was a young journalist, so he started taking photos of war-torn areas. ABC News hired Cooper as a correspondent, but he also worked as a co-anchor, reality shows, and many other varieties shows. After years of handwork, in 2001, he was given his own space and his show Anderson Cooper 360(degree). Since then, he has been hosting the program and has been the top anchor in the news industry.   

He openly accepted his gender as gay in 2012. Soon, he received many awards and was named as the only American gay journalist.
