EXO fans may be wondering what Lay's decision means and whether he will remain a part of the band.
In his letter, which he wrote in both English and Korean, Lay Zhang thanked his members and SM Entertainment for their support over the past decade.
He wrote: "Ten years of growth, thank you all. Thank you to my EXO brothers for your company and encouragement.
"Thanks to my colleagues at SM for witnessing every step of my growth and achievement. Thank you to all my fans for your unconditional love and support."
fans concerned that this means Lay will no longer be a part of EXO, the singer confirmed this is not the case, as he said he "will always be the Lay when my members need me."
EXO consists of nine members, Xiumin, Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun as well as Lay.
