Debunked: Did Bill Gates Get Banned From Twitter After Elon Musk Deal?
Many on Twitter have posed the question: Has Elon Musk banned Bill Gates from Twitter after buying the platform?
Since the Tesla owner struck a deal to become the new boss of the social media company, a number of hoaxes have been circulating on the internet.
Soon after Elon announced that he had acquired Twitter, a screenshot of a tweet claiming the suspension of American business magnate Bill Gates was widely circulated.
The lower half of the picture has the message: “Account suspended. Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rules”
His official account is still active with tweets as recent as nine hours ago, at the time of writing.
The Microsoft founder also shared a tweet on April 27 about one of his TED talks.
If he was banned, as the hoax claims, none of his tweets would appear, and neither would he be allowed to post anything new.
