Bad Bunny Unveiled as New Marvel Hero ‘El Muerto’ for Sony Pictures
Bad Bunny has joined the cast of El Muerto, making him the first Latino character to lead a Marvel live-action film.
The 28-year-old Puerto Rico native was revealed to play the title character in Sony's El Muerto during the studio's CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas on Monday evening.
He will be the first Latino actor to play the lead role of a live-action Marvel superhero movie, with Sony setting a January 12, 2024 release date for El Muerto.
Bunny also stars in Sony's highly-anticipated Bullet Train with Brad Pitt, in theaters July 29
with the actor and rapper praising director David Leitch, who directed him in F9 as well as Bullet Train
El Muerto is a wrestler whose powers are handed down by ancestry in the form of a mask
In past comic narratives, El Muerto has gotten in the ring with Spider-Man himself
