Andrew Tate's first public appearance since arrest
On January 25, 2023, Andrew and Tristan Tate, both known as influencers, made their first public appearance since they were apprehended on December 29, 2022.
The brothers were called to the Bucharest headquarter of DIICOT, an organization that deals with issues related to organized crime and terrorism, for additional questioning.
They were able to speak to journalists during the transportation.
Andrew Tate, a 36-year-old British-American, shared with a journalist:
"They know we have done nothing wrong."
Tristan Tate also stated that there is "lack of evidence"
The investigation is still in progress. Tate has not been absolved of any charges including mistreatment, rape, or human trafficking.
Romanian authorities have the ability to detain Tate for a maximum of 180 days, if the investigation requires that much time, at the request of prosecutors.
The next course of action is uncertain, it will be based on the result of the ongoing investigation.
The judge decided to prolong the detention till February 27, 2023 as the investigation is ongoing.
Additionally, the judge ordered the seizure of his assets, including several luxury sports cars.
