TJ Holmes and Amy Robach are FIRED by ABC

following a decision made by management three months after their off-screen affair was exposed by DailyMail.com.

Despite attempts to come to an agreement with the network regarding their positions on Good Morning America and

their afternoon show, the TV anchors and the network were unable to reach a compromise.

However, management states that there were several productive conversations with the anchors.

Allegations of an affair were made against the hosts by their partners. Holmes took legal action and filed for divorce in January.

The decision to let the pair go from the network was communicated to all employees through an email sent on Friday evening.

The email started with the following statement: "I want to share with you that we've reached a decision about T.J. and Amy."

The management had alleged that Robach and Holmes did not conduct themselves professionally

when it came to their romantic relationship and had delayed in disclosing it to the senior management.

According to sources, the network felt that the couple's behavior on set had made the staff of ABC uncomfortable.

T.J. and Amy reached an agreement on their departure following a long and difficult mediation process that lasted through Thursday night and into Friday morning.
